Medicare and telehealth fees
The rules to access Medicare rebates for telehealth appointments have recently changed. To be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate, you must have seen your General Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner at Border General Practice at least once in the 12 months prior to the date of your telehealth consultation.
This means that if you have not been to Border General Practice for a face-to-face appointment in the last 12 months, you will incur the full consultation cost, as no Medicare rebate will be applied. See our fees and policies page for comprehensive fee information.
Telehealth for patients with respiratory symptoms
If you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms including fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, and you have not performed a negative RAT test, you will be required to book a Telehealth appointment before you can come in for a face-to-face appointment.
If you require further review your doctor will arrange this with you over the phone. You will only be changed one private fee, even if two consultations are required.
Patients who present to the practice with respiratory symptoms must have a negative RAT taken on the same day as their appointment.
Masks must be worn to enter the practice.
